Eight people were killed on Friday in heavy clashes between Houthi militants and tribesmen in Yemen's central province of Ibb, according to local sources.
The clashes erupted when the insurgents refused to let tribesmen into Ibb and shot at them, killing one. Tribesmen retaliated by killing four Houthis. Many were injured from both in the clashes that ensued.
Meanwhile, two tribesmen and a Houthi were killed today in similar clashes on the Western Ring Road where the Houthis had a check point linking Ibb to other Yemeni provinces. Dozens were seriously injured.
