HM King issues Decree 78/2016 re-organising transport ministry

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Royal Decree 78/2016 re-organising the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The decree stipulated the re-organisation of the Ministry of Transport and Communication under the Minister who will be in charge of:

First: Department of Public Relations and Marketing.

Second: Communications Department.

Third: Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Data to be in charge of:
1- Department of Data Systems.
2- Department of Human Resources.
3- Department of Financial Resources.

Fourth: The Ministry's Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post, to be in charge of:
1- Department of Organisation of the Postal Sector.
2- Assistant Undersecretary for the Post, to be in charge of:
a- Department of Postal Operations and Relations.
b- Department of Postal Offices.
3- Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transport, to be in charge of:
a- Department of Organising Land Transport.
b- Department of Land Transport Projects
c- Department of Land Transport Planning and Studies.
d- Department of Monitoring and Inspection of Land Transport.

Fifth: Undersecretary of the Ministry for Civil Aviation Affairs, who will be in charge of:
1- Assistant Undersecretary for Air Navigation, Meteorological Services, who will be in charge of:
a- Department of Air Traffic.
b- Department of Air Navigation Systems.
c- Department of Meteorology.
2- Assistant Undersecretary for Air Transport, Aviation Safety and Security, who will be in charge of:
a- Department of Air Transportation.
b- Department of Aviation Safety and Security.
c- Department of Aviation Licensing.

Sixth: Undersecretary of the Ministry for Ports and Maritime Navigation, who will be in charge of:
1- Department of Logistic Zones.
2- Assistant Undersecretary for Ports Affairs, in charge of:
a- Department of Ports Operations and Technical Services.
b- Department of Commercial Affairs.
c- Department of Security and Safety.

3- Assistant Undersecretary for Maritime Navigation Affairs, in charge of:
a- Department of Safety and Maritime Ecology Protection.
b- Department of Ships Registration and Sailors Affairs.

Also, Decree 19/2016 regarding the re-organisation of the Ministry of Transport and Communication has been cancelled as well as any text contradictory to the provisions of this Decree (78/2016).

The Minister of Transport and Communications has been tasked to implement this Decree which becomes effective from the day following its publishing on the Official Gazette.
