This morning several media sources reported that Ismail Haniyeh, senior leader of Hamas and former Prime Minister, was taken to the hospital at dawn after he started feeling unwell during the night. However, his son, Abd al-Salam Haniyeh, has categorically denied these claims.
Haniyeh’s son said that his father went to the hospital to visit the wounded, see the reality and asses the needs of the hospitals in Gaza, and that he had not been taken to the hospital.
Israeli media has focused on Haniyeh these last two days after he had been hiding during the war in Gaza and made his first public appearance once the ceasefire was announced.
Reports of the Hamas leader’s hospitalization also came hours after he greeted thousands of Gazans in a central Gaza square in a massive “victory rally” following the signing of a long-term ceasefire with Israel
Leader of Hamas have also denied the claims that Haniyeh is hospitalized.
