Dubai - Arab Today

Dr. Hanif Hassan Al Qassim, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue, has said that the Centre has adopted a comprehensive future strategy, with the aim of promoting human rights in various countries around the world, by introducing modern concepts to highlight its positive aspects and enrich the dialogue regarding the issue, which will eventually reflect in the communication between various cultures and the objective cooperation between communities.

He made this statement while receiving Sheikh Al Sayed Ali Al Hashemi, Advisor for Religious and Judicial Affairs to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, during his visit to the headquarters of the Centre in Geneva, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al Shamsi, Member of the Board of Directors of the Council, and Ambassador Idriss Jazairy, Executive Director of the Centre.

Al Qasim presented the Centre’s programmes and activities and highlighted its many research and training conferences, seminars and activities, which include the participation of prominent international and academic institutions, as well as other humanitarian organisations.

He said that the Centre is keen to promote the culture of enlightenment and the values of tolerance and solidarity, especially among future generations in many communities while highlighting its efforts to confront the extremism and hate that is emerging around the world, as well as Islamophobia in Europe and the United States. He also acknowledged the Centre’s desire to establish cooperation and partnership ties with research and academic institutions.

Al Hashimi expressed his appreciation for the programmes of the Centre and praised its key role in promoting international dialogue and the values of tolerance and co-existence, as well as it effective role as an Arab human rights centre and in presenting the true image of Arab culture and Islamic civilisation.

He also welcomed the mutual cooperation between the Ministry of Presidential Affairs in the UAE and the Centre in various international arenas while stressing that the ministry and its affiliated institutions welcome further co-operation with prominent international humanitarian institutions and centres, as per the directives of the wise leadership.
