UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond
London -MENA

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has praised the role Egypt plays in the Middle East.
Hammond also condoled with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukri in a meeting over those killed in the terror attack in Sinai.
Shoukri is currently visiting the UK.
The two sides discussed the Libya developments and the need to reach a ceasefire there, noting that a military operation in Libya could not solve the problem there.
The meeting also tackled the Daesh threat to the Middle East region.
Shoukri highlighted the importance of fighting all terror groups in Syria, Iraq and Libya in a comprehensive strategy.
Bilateral ties development topped the agenda of the talks, as the UK secretary highlighted the role Egypt played in stability in the Middle East.
