Hamas movement called on Palestinians to stage rallies on Friday to protest Israeli practices in Al-Quds (Occupied East Jerusalem) and defend Aqsa Mosque.
In a press release Thursday, Hamas urged the Palestinians in the West Bank not to leave Al-Quds residents in their battle in the holy city.
Hamas also called on all Palestinians to avenge the killing of Palestinians.
On Thursday, Israeli authorities shut the Al-Aqsa Mosque indefinitely for the first time since Israel's 1967 occupation of East Jerusalem.
The move came shortly after an extremist Jewish rabbi was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting in Jerusalem late Wednesday.
