Hamas senior official Moussa Abu Marzouq declared on Wednesday that indirect ceasefire negotiations between Palestinian factions and Israel will restart within the next week.
Speaking to Ma'an, Abu Marzouq said that while the exact date had not yet been set, "it would definitely be before the 24th of the current month."
The United Nations will direct reconstruction efforts in Gaza, the Hamas official stated, in coordination with Israel and the Palestinian unity government. Hamas will cooperate with any reconstruction methods employed by the UN, he added.
Abu Marzouq commented that is expecting contact from Azzam al-Ahmad, the head of the Fatah delegation in Cairo, in order to set a time and place for the expected meeting between Fatah and Hamas leaders.
"The movement does not mind meeting in Cairo if it agrees, but if it doesn't, the meeting will be held in Gaza."
These negotiations between the major Palestinian political parties and Israel are the second part of long-term ceasefire talks after those of the 26th of August.
