Having attended sunset at Arafat Mount on Friday, Hajj pilgrims started descending to the next leg of the pilgrimge, Muzdalifah, halfway between Arafat and Mina.
At Muzalifah, they will perform joint Maghrib and Isha prayers, collect pebbles to throw at pillars that represent the devil in Mina tomorrow, and stay the night before heading to Makkah early the next morning.
Along the wide roads from Arafat to Muzdalifah, traffic, security and national guard officers as well as scout squads are seen helping pilgrims and facilitating movement.
On Saturday, pilgrims head back to Mina, where they will sacrifice livestock to mark the beginning of the four-day Eid Al-Adha.
Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, arrived at Mina to oversee how the pilgrims are being served.
For his part, Acting Health Minister Adel Fakieh was quoted as saying health conditions of the pilgrims are well.
Interviewed by Saudi TV, Fakieh said that the ministry had taken a host of procedures to face any potential cases of MERS coronavirus or Ebola cases, noting that health centers are working around the clock, offering their services to pilgrims.
Since April, Saudi authorities have been taking measures to impede incoming travellers from countries that have witnessed significant Ebola outbreaks, Fakieh said.
So far, no cases of the epidemics have been found among pilgrims, he stressed.
