Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said on Monday the government is keen on providing large amounts of food commodities and reducing their prices at all outlets owned by the state. 

The premier's remarks were made following the inauguration of "Ahlan Ramadan" or "Welcome Ramadan" exhibition which is held at Cairo International Conference Center. 

The premier was accompanied by Supply Minister Ali Moselhi and Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil.

The premier also said as many as 200 companies are participating in the exhibition which provides a variety of food commodities including meat, chicken and other food supplies at affordable prices.

Ismail also asserted that subsidies of the food supplies reached EGP 69 to 70 billion in the new state budget.
