The Government is committed to developing the sector of tourism in Algeria through quality projects, said Sunday in Algiers Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Nouria Yamina Zerhouni.
"I would like to reiterate the Government's commitment to developing the sector of tourism as expressed by President of the Republic through his programme by the launch of quality tourist projects," said Zerhouni at the signing ceremony of an agreement on a project of 4-star hotel in Skikda (510-km east of Algiers) between the Spanish hotel chain Barcelo hotels and the Algerian company Rania Land.
The minister said that the State "encourages" partnerships for the management of hotel facilities according to international standards.
For his part, Spanish Ambassador to Algeria Alejandro Polanco hailed the signing of the agreement, which aims to further boosting the economic cooperation between the two countries.
The opening of "Barcelo Skikda Bordj El Amine," which comprises 178 rooms and two restaurants, is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015.
