
A drafting committee in charge of draft recommendations for 133rd GCC ministerial council held a meeting at the Doha Sheraton Hotel on Monday. HE Director of GCC Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Yousuf Al Jabir presided over the meeting.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) has learnt that these recommendations related to cooperation in economic affairs and financial markets in the GCC member states and water linkage and water security, in addition to follow-up reports on the common market and monetary union, railways and customs union negotiations as well as strategic dialogues with economic groups and other political issues.
The meeting's recommendations will be submitted to the ministerial council which will hold its preparatory meeting in Doha tomorrow. Then, they will be referred to the 35th session of the GCC Supreme Council due to be held in Qatar from 9 to 10 December for approval. (QNA)
Advisory Board's Head Optimistic about GCC Summit in Qatar
Doha, November 24 (QNA) - Abdullah Yacoub Bishara, head the Advisory Board of the Supreme Council of the of the Cooperation Council of the Gulf Arab States (GCC), said that the GCC Advisory Board's coordination meeting, to be held later today at the Doha Sheraton Hotel, will exchange views on the Board meeting with the GCC ministerial council due to be held tomorrow.
In a statement to Qatar News (QNA), Bisahra said that the Board members will discuss the issues that they will submit to the ministerial council, adding that these issues pertained to human development, tourist visa, the progress of GCC march and other issues related to the GCC member states.
He expressed optimism about the outcome of the 35th session of the GCC leaders, which Doha will host from 9 to 10 December.
Bishara said that the upcoming Doha summit will consolidate GCC march, saying: "I am very optimistic about the GCC Summit in Doha and the State of Qatar's presidency to the Summit." The GCC Advisory Board was established by a decision from the Supreme Council at its 18th session in Kuwait in 1997 to broaden the base of consultation and intensify contacts among the member states.
