Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani strongly condemned "the brutal massacre" perpetrated by an Iraqi sectarian militia against worshipers at Mus'ab Bin Omair Mosque in Diyala Governorate, northeast Baghdad, on Friday.
"Such despicable terrorist crimes run counter to all religious, moral and humanitarian values," Al-Zayani said in a statement here on Sunday.
"This brutal attack on armless worshippers who are guests of God reflects the moral degeneration and the abhorrent ideology of the sectarian militias," he pointed out.
The GCC chief urged the Iraqi security services to track down the perpetrators of the heinous crime as soon as possible and bring them to justice.
