Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani on Friday condemned in a strongly-worded statement Thursday's explosion that happened outside the UAE embassy in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
"Such a terrorist act of cowardice is a blatant breach of international laws and covenants and implies no regard to innocent souls and properties," the GCC chief said.
"Culprits of this terrorist act must be brought to justice," he demanded, also calling for better protection of diplomatic missions in Libya, according to relevant international laws. Tripoli on Thursday witnessed two bomb explosions, close to the UAE and Egyptian embassies. No injuries were reported but glass windows of nearby buildings were shattered.
