Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani welcomed the ceasefire deal which was announced yesterday between the Palestinian and Israeli delegations.
In a statement today, he described the truce agreement, which was brokered by Egypt, as a major step to put an end to the Israeli assault on Gaza Strip, protect innocent civilians’ lives and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
He commended Egypt’s efforts and the regional and international support, urging the international community and organizations to dispatch relief aid to war-ravaged Gazans.
