Cairo hosts Saturday a Palestinian delegation, including the Hamas movement for talks with Egyptian officials on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, devastated by 26 days of Israeli aggressions that left more than 1,600 dead.
Egypt has invited Palestinian Authority and the Israeli occupation to send delegations to Cairo for talks after both parties approved humanitarian truce of 72 hours in the Gaza Strip.
Despite the failure of this truce on Friday, Cairo ensured to have maintained its invitation to Palestinian and Israeli delegations for negotiations for a cease-fire in the Palestinian enclave subject to strict Israeli blockade since 2006.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Friday a delegation of his movement, Fatah, the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad would head, "whatever the circumstances" to Egypt on Saturday to discuss "the coming steps "to try to put an end to Israeli attacks that killed more than 1,600 Palestinians since July 8th.
Ezzat al-Rishq, member of the Hamas political leadership living in Doha, said dep negotiations were necessary regarding the blockade of the Gaza Strip by Israel.
