Cairo - Arab Today

The Foreign Ministry’s consular department is closely following up the condition of 18 Egyptian workers who were injured at a construction site in Mecca Thursday.

The workers were injured after concrete foundations of an under-construction building collapsed in Mecca.

The Foreign Ministry said the Egyptian consul in Jeddah dispatched a delegate to inquire after the workers.

Fourteen of the workers were discharged from hospital after receiving the necessary treatment, the Ministry said.

The consulate in Jeddah will follow up investigations into the incident to ensure the rights of the workers are preserved.
