The first biometric national card will be delivered in February 2015, announced Monday in Tipaza The General Director of Modernization, Documentation and Archives at the Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities Abderrezak M’Heni.
“The operation is part of the strategy of modernization of various structures of the ministry in order to facilitate the delivery of administrative documents and improve public service,” said M’heni in a statement on the sidelines of a meeting with the officials and technicians of the province of Tipasa.
As for the driver’s license, Mheni said that “the drafting of the national file of this document comes to an end, thus allowing citizens to withdraw it from any sub-prefecture throughout the country.”
Concerning the biometric passport and the registration book, the same official directed the concerned services to ensure that these two documents be “delivered in a record time, especially as the used technical system allows it.”
