Firearms, including machine guns, seized in Amman, Irbid

Preventive Security Department's personnel on Thursday raided two houses falling within its jurisdiction, and found 23 pieces of individual and automatic weapons, including a 500 mm machine gun caliber, in addition to a large amount of ammunition used for these weapons.
According to the Public Security Department (PSD) media center, the department had received information regarding citizens in possession of certain quantities of unauthorized arms, adding that the security personnel raided the two houses and found 19 pieces of weapons in one and four in the other.
Those suspected of involvement in the acquisition of these weapons were arrested, according to the media center.
The PSD's officers also seized seven pieces of weapons, some automatic, and a number of binoculars and munitions, at the home of a citizen in the northern city of Irbid. The concerned citizen was arrested.
The case was referred to the concerned authorities.
