Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, expressed his pride at the UN Women and Global Partnerships Forum’s presenting the Agent of Change Award to the "Mother of the UAE," H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

He congratulated Sheikha Fatima for winning this prominent international award, which recognised her continuous efforts to empower women everywhere and in all areas, as well as her actions and her statements, stressing that women’s empowerment represents the empowerment of the entire community and is real proof of positive change in all nations and on all levels.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak affirmed that Sheikha Fatima is a leader of positive change in the nation, the region and the entire world, due to her ongoing efforts to provide a better future for humanity throughout the world, and to empower various segments of the community, especially children and women, as well as to achieve a beneficial and balanced upbringing of children and promote the contributions of women in achieving overall development and progress.

He added that Sheikha Fatima is again a leader of positive change, due to her continuous efforts to create good relations and establish channels of communication and understanding between all nations and peoples, as communication has become an essential part of the lives of people in the modern era, as well as for her ongoing directives to establish the foundations of community responsibility, to help communities combat "non-benign phenomena" that negatively affect the lives of people and the advancement of communities.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak further added that Sheikha Fatima is also a leader of positive change, due to her key role in motivating future generations and her desire to achieve effective social development, and because the region and the entire world are feeling the effects of her efforts.

As a leader of positive change, he further added that Sheikha Fatima is a leading example of the Arab and Muslim woman, due to her generosity, self-confidence, wisdom, vision and ability to think logically, as well as her strong belief in the nation’s capacity to achieve its goals, her loyalty to the nation, her clear future vision that is based on the nation’s traditional culture, and her awareness about world events. Due to her qualities, she has therefore become the Mother of the UAE, and a model to be followed by everyone, he added.

Sheikh Nahyan noted that the Emirati people are proud of her leadership in the country’s social renaissance, while highlighting her position in the hearts of all UAE nations and her prominent international stature.
