
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) yesterday sent a plane, carrying 36 tonnes worth Dh7 million of relief aid to displaced people in Erbil of Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, and the follow-up by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of the ERC.
Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC, said that the shipment includes medicines for the displaced Iraqis in Kurdistan, adding that it comes within the directives of wise leadership to assist tens of thousands of the displaced Iraqis.
