
Arab League Secretary-General, Dr. Nabeel El-Arabi, hailed the distinguished efforts made by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organization (RCO), in supporting charitable work and relief and humanitarian operations at the Arab and international levels.
This came as RCO Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, today received Arab League Secretary-General, in the presence of Arab League Assistant Sec-Gen for Social Affairs, Dr. Faeqa Al-Saleh, Arab League Director of Health and Humanitarian Aid, Layla Najim, and Arab League Director for Press and Information, Coordinator of Mechanism of Humanitarian Aid, Nada Al-Ajaizi.
The parties reviewed the results of the workshop held on (The Effectiveness of Humanitarian Action in the Arab Region - Challenges and Next Steps) which was organized by Arab League in cooperation with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs - Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa, and aimed to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian action.
They discussed the challenges facing coordinating humanitarian affairs in the Arab region and developing a joint coordination mechanism for humanitarian affairs in the Arab region.
RCO Sec-Gen gave an overview on initiatives and projects carried out by the RCO to support the goals of the workshop by the relief aid presented by the Kingdom of Bahrain for affected countries, in line with directives of RCO Honorary President, HM the King, and the support of Bahrain's government led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al kalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and First Deputy Premier, and the vital role of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in implementing aforementioned directives.
