The 8th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Public Prosecutors, Attorney-Generals, Heads of Public Investigation Bodies and the public prosecution agreed on Monday to set a program for bilateral visits.
The two-day meeting that kicked off on Sunday chaired by Kuwaiti Public Prosecutor Dherar Al-Asousi, emphasized the importance of endorsing unified judiciary orders for members of the prosecution, public prosecution and investigative bodies in the member states.
It was also agreed to organize a symposium next year to discuss the mechanisms for activating the decision by the GCC Supreme Council on supporting prosecution and investigative bodies.
Participants also lauded the experience of the Bahrain prosecution regarding the use of modern technology, which was reviewed during the meeting. They said they had discussed a host of judiciary topics that urged cementing cooperation between the prosecution and investigative bodies in the GCC countries.
Wrapping up the meeting, they also sent cables of congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the recent UN honoring naming His Highness the Amir a 'Humanitarian Leader' and Kuwait a 'Humanitarian Center.' They also appreciated the invitation by Qatar's Public Prosecutor Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri to host the 9th meeting of the GCC Public Prosecutors, Attorney-Generals, Heads of Public Investigation Bodies and the public prosecution in Doha next year.
