Egyptian Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan had talks on Wednesday with his Saudi counterpart Mujarif bin Saad al Haqbani to review the conditions of Egyptian workers in the kingdom, especially the three-month overdue salaries of Egyptians at the construction sector of Ben Laden foundation.
The meeting was held on the fringe of the Arab labor conference, currently held in Cairo under the aegis of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The talks also tackled means of enhancing cooperation in the labor domain.
Haqbani stressed during the meeting that Egyptian workers are welcomed in the kingdom, adding that his ministry spares no effort to solve any problem facing Egyptian workers.
He noted that Saudi Arabia hired Egyptian counselors to work at courts in charge of labor cases.
He said Egyptian workers' problems are a top priority to Saudi Arabia.
As for the problem of Egyptian workers at Ben Laden foundation, Saafan said he gave directives that if the foundation terminated a contract with an Egyptian worker, he should take all his financial dues and can get a job at another company.
He added that if the worker wants to return to Egypt, one of his colleagues can get his financial dues upon his proxy.
The two ministers agreed to transparently handle workers' problems away from bureaucracy.
