
Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi received a telephone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on current developments in the Palestinian territories, presidential spokesman Ambassador Ehab Badawi said Tuesday.
In a statement, Badawi said Egypt is conducting various calls with all parties involved in attempt to stop the Israeli aggression toward the Palestinian people and ongoing military operations.
The statement noted that Israeli as an occupying force and takes full responsibility for ensuring the safety of Palestinian civilians based on the Fourth Geneva Conventions and international law.
The spokesman noted that his country is also attempting to create the most suitable atmosphere and efforts to kick start the peace process negotiations with the aim of reaching a full settlement and an Independent Palestinian state.
