Fighting in South Sudan
Cairo - MENA

Egypt expressed concerns over the continued fighting in South Sudan, saying it is ready to offer any necessary support to the current negotiations to defuse tensions.
In a meeting with South Sudanese Foreign Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin on the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed worries that continued fighting in the South would waste all gains achieved after the independence.
Egypt will back any agreement satisfactory to the southerns, Shoukry said
He also reiterated Egypt's commitment to back the development and reconstruction programs in South Sudan.
