Egypt on Thursday renewed its rejection to the latest Israeli military operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and expressed concern over such continued actions.
Widening the scale of such operations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will lead to more Palestinian casualties and losses, the Foreign Ministry said in a released statement.
The continued shelling, house demolitions and arrests will further weaken an already fragile state of stability, push to further confrontations and violence and disrupt attempts by the Palestinian Authority to enforce security, it said.
The Foreign Ministry renewed its call on Israeli authorities to exercise the highest degree of self restraint to stop matters from getting worse and avert unforeseen repercussions.
At the same time, it held Israeli authorities responsible for the repercussions of ongoing military operations.
It renewed its support to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and to the Palestinian leadership in their efforts to stop the ongoing deterioration.
