Egypt makes necessary contacts to fix lull in Gaza

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reiterated Tuesday that his country is making necessary contacts to "fix the lull in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip to help the concerned parties start negotiations".
Shoukry made this remark while discussing with US Secretary of State John Kerry the latest developments in Gaza Strip in a telephone call, Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement added that Shoukry discussed with Kerry the 72-hour ceasefire between Palestinians and Israelis, which started Tuesday at 8 a.m. (0500 GMT).
Shoukry said that Egypt launched an initiative of ceasefire to stop the bloodshed of Palestinian innocents.
In a related development, Shoukry discussed with Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Gouda, in a telephone call, the current developments in the Strip.
A visiting Palestinian delegation submitted some demands to Egyptian officials, including stopping Israeli aggression and lifting blockage in order to ensure lull there.
Palestinian sources said that Egypt promised to do the best in order to meet that demands.
