Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held on Sunday a meeting with his Libyan counterpart Mohammed al-Dairi.
They discussed ways of bolstering bilateral relations as well as the latest developments in Libya, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Atti said.
He added that preparations for a meeting on Libya's neighboring countries were also tackled.
Dairi thanked the Egyptian authorities and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for their efforts to bring about stability and security in Libya.
Shoukry, meanwhile, stressed Egypt's support for the Libyan government and legitimate institutions there.
Egypt is ready to provide Libya with all aid to build its capacities in such a manner that achieves the aspirations of the Libyan people, Shoukry said.
