Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri said President Abdel Fatah El Sisi's message to his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika mainly tackled the Egyptian desire for boosting bilateral ties.
Sisi was keen on sharing with Bouteflika his views on the latest developments in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and other issues of common concern, Shoukri told MENA.
Egypt's top diplomat said one of the main goals of his Algeria visit was to continue coordination between the two countries on the Libyan crisis.
There is a need to strong coordination between Egypt and Algeria because both countries share long borders with Libya, Shoukri said.
The visit was an opportunity to brief Bouteflika, Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra about Egypt's efforts to defuse the Libyan crisis, he added.
