The Egyptian Darul-Iftaa (house of religious edicts) has been exerting tremendous efforts to refute claims by terrorists and rectify the distorted teachings they attribute to Islam, Mufti Shawqi Allam said Sunday.
During a meeting with new French Ambassador here Andre Parant, the mufti reviewed efforts to counter Takfiri fatwas, saying "Takfirism and explosions are two sides of the same coin."
Allam urged the foreign media not to use the term "Islamic state" when referring to terror organizations.
