Algeria is an important Arab country that has weight in the region, said Egypt's Ambassador Amr Abu Aish Monday.
Speaking to MENA in statements before leaving to Algeria to assume his diplomatic post, Abu Aish hailed as strategic relations between Cairo and Algiers.
President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi made his first Arab visit since he assumed post to Algeria, Abu Aish said.
Cairo is keen on boosting cooperation with Algiers in all fields, Abul Aish said.
He will start his diplomatic duties on Wednesday.
Abu Aish once served as deputy assistant foreign minister for international cooperation.
He led Egypt's delegation to a number of international conferences.
Abu Aish was an Egyptian embassy staffer in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France and Russia.
