
Dubai is hosting the first Dubai International Animal Feed/Pet Food Safety conference next Wednesday under the slogan,"Sustainability of animal feed and pet food safety", at the Birds and Pet Market in Al Warsan Area.
The two-day conference is organised by the Dubai Municipality and will highlight the rules and regulations related to the animal feed and pet food sector as well as its effects on public and animal health.
Experts and specialists from Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the US Pet Foods Institute, Jordan University of Science and Technology, as well as federal agencies such as Ministry of Climate Change and Environment will participate in the event.
It is also attended by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, municipalities of different emirates and the UAE University, in addition to leading local and international private companies in the animal feed and pet food trade sector.
The aim of the event is to discuss most important issues related to security and safety of animal feed and pet food in light of the increasing global attention on this issue, Zuhoor Al Sabbagh, Director of Public Health Services Department at Dubai Municipality and Chairperson of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, said.
She added that the conference will give an opportunity to facilitate exchange of ideas and views on the latest developments in animal feed and pet food safety at the local, regional and international levels.
An exhibition of animal feed and pet food products will also be held on the sidelines of the conference.
