Within its efforts to enhance happiness in the government sector, Dubai Customs organised an event on 13th and 14th September under the heading, "Partners’ Happiness Lab".

The Lab generated a number of innovative ideas and initiatives which were discussed with the senior management team who directed the staff on how to implement and develop them to make partners even happier.

The event was organised to enhance the commitment to make society happy as per the wise vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division, Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division, Farid Hassan Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Human Resources and a number of directors of customs departments and centres took part.

Musabih pointed out that making Dubai Customs’ partners and clients happier is a top priority of Dubai Plan 2021 and the UAE’s forward vision.

"Dubai Customs plan 2016-2021 is looking at happiness as a main objective. For this, we always develop our plans following the latest practices and trends."

He added, "The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has turned Dubai into a unique model and a leading world example of modernity through delivery of world-class products and seven-star services."

Musabih said the internally developed initiatives such as the Virtual Corridor, the Smart Workspace, the Smart Risk Engine, and the Authorised Economic Operator have helped to increase Dubai's competitiveness and attractiveness worldwide. All of this has recently helped it top the list of world countries in the Efficiency of Customs Procedures Index.

Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Strategy and Corporate Excellence Director, said the Lab reflects the department’s vision of materialising the national agenda and making all partners happy.

He concluded, "We’ve learnt from Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that happiness and positivity is a lifestyle and a way of life."
