Egypt's Ambassador to Sudan Osama Shaltout
Khartoum - Arab Today

Egypt's Ambassador to Sudan Osama Shaltout praised on Wednesday Egyptian-Sudanese relations following the release of Egyptian students who were held in Sudan over charges of leaking exam papers.

Speaking at a press conference, Shaltout described Egyptian-Sudanese relations as 'historic and deeply-rooted'.

Shaltout thanked the Sudanese government for their cooperation as regards solving the crisis.

About 20 Egyptian students were involved in the case, he said, adding that the released students were free to return home anytime they want.

A delegation from the Sudanese Education Ministry will visit Egypt soon to brief Egyptian officials on the outcome of investigations into the case, he said.
