
RAFAH, Egypt, Nov 19 (MENA) - It is only a matter of days before the remaining houses on the border line with Gaza are demolished, an official source said Wednesday.
A committee has been formed to complete all paper work and pay compensations for residents of the houses, the source said.
The source said tunnels were detected in 87 houses of all 802 that were standing along the border with Gaza.
So far, 700 houses have been demolished in the buffer zone, the source further said.
Residents have cashed compensations worth some 63 million pounds so far, he added.
Residents get 1,200 pounds for every square meter of concrete building, 700 pounds for every square meter of other construction with load bearing walls and 100 pounds for every square meter of land on which buildings stood
