Customs at King Khaled International Airport foiled a cigarette casings consignment declared in a statement and accompanying bills as ‘empty-casings’ and after the required checking, customs officers had found that the consignment contained half-filled casings of some kind of cigarettes. The general manager of customs at King Khaled International Airport, Suleiman Al-Tuwaijri said that the consignment belonging to one of the companies arrived at customs. It was declared in the statement and bills as empty-casings contained in 18 parcels weighing 500 kilograms. On its actual inspection, these parcels turned out to contain half-filled casings for a kind of cigarettes in very large quantities and represented the bottom part for the original pack of cigarettes with a size of 7 x 5.5 centimeters, pointing out that the aim was to hide the warning pictures. He added that the customs seized these parcels containing banned drugs. He explained that an exchange of information was useful in this seizure. The exchange of information involved the Regional Office for the exchange of information in the Middle East ‘Relo’ — Riyadh and the local liaison office for the exchange of information. Al-Tuwaijri said that customs officers at King Khalid International Airport were vigilant and work hard to prevent (the entry of) various banned items.
