Tunis - Tap
Chairman of the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections Kamel Jendoubi announced, on Wednesday, that the rate of the registered voters for the elections of the Constituent Assembly stands at 27% of the total eligible voters. On Tuesday evening, their number went up to 2.276 out of a total of 7.9 million electors, Mr. Jendoubi said, during the Wednesday meeting of the High Authority for the Achievement of Revolution Objectives (HAARO) devoted to the issue of Constituent Assembly's election. Commissions specialised in political, economic and cultural affairs are to be formed within HAARO. Chairman of the Authority said that the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections does not allow any party belonging to a political party to remain member of the authority, specifying that the operations of nominations of the sub-commission administrators are so far non official. He described the relation between the Authority and the government as being "good", highlighting the Interim Government's will to collaborate with the Authority to guarantee a good preparation of the next elections. He said that three million and half dinars had been spent as an advance for a sum mobilised by the government estimated at 10 million dinars. In turn, Secretary-General of the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections Boubaker Belthabet estimated that an allowance will be granted to all the employees to be recruited within the sub-commissions and local sub-commissions integrated as part of the "AMAL" programme. Concerning the implementation of Article 15, Mr. Belthabet said that the bill, fixing the responsibilities within the former RCD is ready, as the case of the list of the persons ineligible for the next elections.
