
President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, said on Wednesday that the terrorists were defeated greatly at the hands of the Peshmerga forces, stressing that terrorism is a global threat, so the defeating them requires a joint international effort.
A statement by the presidency of the province, today said that Barzani expressed during his meeting with South Korean ambassador to Iraq Joe Johngon, and his accompanying delegation, his support for the steps of the international coalition about targeting the terrorists inside Syrian territory, noting that the terrorists have used Syrian territory as a safe base and a springboard for an attack on Kurdistan and Iraq, and that the destruction of this base gives a strong impetus to accelerate defeating them.
For his part, the South Korean Ambassador said Korean companies are willing to expand their investments in the Kurdistan region, and that the diplomatic office of South Korea in Erbil will continue in the performance of its work for the development of bilateral relations, praising the role of the Peshmerga forces in the war against terrorists, pointing out that his country supports the regional Government in its fight against terrorists and helping the displaced people.
