Bangladeshi expatriate arrested on charges of robbery

The maximum punishment under the Omani Penal Code for robbery and assault is 15 years in jailThe Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Salalah arrested a Bangladeshi expatriate on the charges of assaulting and purloining a compatriot, according to a press release on Sunday.The accused, who confessed to his crime during police interrogation, was arrested after the victim complained to the police that the accused barged into his house and assaulted him and robbed his wallet, which contained 3,500 Omani riyals, and his passport.The maximum punishment under the Omani Penal Code for robbery and assault is 15 years in jail.
