Sameera Ebrahim
Rabat - BNA

The Bahraini leadership rejects sectarian quotas, Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Government’s Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim Rajab said.
In a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), she stressed that Bahrain will never adopt sectarian quotas to avert the "civil war experiences in the societies that implemented the quota system".
She emphasised that there has never been no such thing as quota system in the agenda of the Bahraini leaders, and affirmed that "there will never be sectarian quotas under this leadership", noting that what has been raised recently in this regard is "full of misinformation".
The Government’s Official Spokesperson explained that side consultations are still going on between the Royal Court and the other dialogue parties (various political associations and independent MPs) in order to agree on an agenda for the National Dialogue, which "we expect and hope will engage all sides".
She added that the Royal Court, being the Dialogue patron, insists on continuing those consultations in order to reach compromises that are "important and necessary", stressing that no decision will be imposed by any parties at the detriment of the others "because the kingdom is a pluralistic country, and we have be committed to such an outstanding pluralism by consensus among all".
