The Royal Decrees issued on September 22 will usher in a new phase of reforms in the kingdom.
By cancelling the Central Governorate, re-defining electoral constituencies and calling on eligible voters to submit their nominations and elect their representatives to the Representatives Council reflected, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had responded quickly to the consensual visions reached by the political groups and community leaders.
The decrees re-asserted the political leadership's belief in the importance of popular participation and commitment to the principle of consensus as a unique approach adopted by the kingdom to enhance its democratic experience.
They translated into the ground the letter submitted to HM the King by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, earlier this month on the "common grounds" reached during the meetings with all the political groups and community leaders.
Aiming to implement the outcomes of the recent sessions of the National Dialogue, the Royal Decrees were yet another living proof of HM King Hamad's respect to the visions on which all segments of the Bahraini society reach consensus and unwavering resolve to carry on reforms in the country.
They also re-affirm HM the King's belief in the importance of the National Dialogue in pushing the reform and development marches in the kingdom and meeting the requirements of the Bahraini democracy through enhancing popular participation in legislations and monitoring.
The political leadership's keenness to implement the outcomes of the national Dialogue has reinforced the kingdom's status as state of law and institutions since the new consensual visions will be constitutional channels, which will the upcoming elections a great national occasion on which the citizens should participate massively in order to elect their representatives to the new council whose main duty will be to translate those visions into the ground.
