
A parliamentary delegation led by Shura Council's Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee Chairman, Dalal Al-Zayed, participates in the 11th Workshop of Parliamentary Scholars and Parliamentarians.
The two-day workshop is organized by Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Centre for Legislative Studies of Hull University and hosted by Wroxton College, UK.
The delegation also comprises MP Dr. Jamal Saleh, Shura member Rabab Al-Uraidh and Shura member Dr. Fawzia Al-Jeeb.
Today's workshop reviewed the global Parliamentary Report issued by IPU and UN Development Programme on the relationship between parliamentarians and citizens.
The workshop also discussed parliaments in developing countries, legislative development in China, setting up policies and accounting, legislative authorities in Europe, accounting and policy-making in the European Union, communication with people through the press, and responsibilities of parliamentarians.
Al-Zayed highlighted Bahrain's keenness on bolstering various cooperation with countries of the world, including parliamentary level and exchanging expertise.
Dr. Saleh noted the issuance of relevant legislations targeting strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and the countries of the world. In addition to the formation of parliamentary friendship committees to act as bridges for parliamentary cooperation with those countries. Adding parliaments can play a vital role in political, economic and social developments in their countries.
