Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Wednesday discussed with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal developments on the regional and the Arab scenes.
They stressed the importance of maintaining stability and security in the region, steering it away from tensions, said a royal statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA). Bilateral ties also featured high on the meeting agenda.
King Hamad lauded the honorable stances by Saudi King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, "which reflect bonds of fraternity and common destiny". He also commended Saudi Arabia for supporting the march of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and advocating the just Arab and Islamic causes.
The talks were attended by Saudi General Intelligence Chief Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Prince Faisal and his accompanying delegation arrived in Bahrain earlier today and were received by Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa.
