President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and the elections Executive Director Advisor Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainin hailed the massive voter turn-out abroad.
"The massive participation of Bahrainis abroad augurs well for the parliamentary and municipal elections in Bahrain on Saturday", he said. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that the flux of citizens on 29 embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions had exceeded today all expectations.
He paid tribute to voters for assuming their patriotic responsibilities and participating actively as they cast their ballots for Bahrain, voicing his confidence in the success of the parliamentary and legislative polls in Bahrain.
Bahrain Embassy in Japan was the first to open its doors for Bahrainis to cast their ballots, while Washington-based Bahrain embassy was the last to close at 07:00PM (US time).
