Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab
Manama - BNA

The Cabinet, chaired at the Gudaibiya Palace today by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has extended sincere greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to the Bahraini people on the advent of Eid Al Adha, and wished them many happy returns, Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Official Spokesperson of the Government Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said.
Speaking during the weekly post cabinet meeting's press briefing, she said that HRH Premier had directed the Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs to provide more facilities to Haj pilgrims and contractors.
He also instructed all ministers to follow-up on the services provided to citizens, she added.
The Cabinet discussed and approved a memorandum presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Vice-President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) on the restructuring of the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA), she told reporters, explaining that the restructuring aims to enhance the BECA's performance in marketing and promoting exhibitions and regional and international conferences hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
A memo presented by the Minister of Education on the Ministry's desire to renew the "Partners in Education" programme with Microsoft Company was also discussed and endorsed during the session, she said, noting that the programme includes educational training programmes for students, teachers and staff, that enhance the integration of information and communication technology in the educational process.
The Council of Ministers also reviewed a memorandum presented by the Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs on the measures taken to enhance the performance of electricity and water networks during the summer of 2014, and the positive outcomes that were achieved.
The measures taken in that regard included the implementation of equipment maintenance programmes for the electric grid, taking advantage of the 600 megawatts option through the GCC electric grid, whenever need arises, taking all precautionary emergency measures in the departments concerned, providing specialised fault detection vehicles and using mobile generators during the outage and repair of malfunctions, she said.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding to be signed with the Federal Republic of Russia, and decided to refer them to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further review, the Government's Official Spokesperson also said.
