
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa thanked Saudi leaders for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality accorded to him and his high-level delegation during his last visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Following today’s cabinet meeting, chaired by HRH Premier at the Gudaibiya Palace, Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Government’s Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said the Bahraini-Saudi meetings had focused on several regional and Arab issues.
The Saudi stances on cooperation on Arab issues and support extended to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)states and Bahrain were highly praised, she said.
The cabinet welcomed the visit of the Palestinian President to the Kingdom and the conference of the Palestinian Ambassadors to Arab countries hosted by Bahrain.
HRH Premier directed ministers to ensure prompt delivery of all reports for review by the specialised committees in order to ensure proper workflow of the ministries and the government programme.
A memorandum presented by the Minister of Finance on the implementation of the Pearl Trail Project was approved by the cabinet.
Under the project, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, 15 out of the 17 historic buildings will be revamped and rehabilitated. These buildings reflect the heritage of pearling along a 3.5 km trail located in Muharraq.
The project also includes the restoration and rehabilitation of 12 other historical buildings, the establishment of 18 public open spaces, four car parks for the visitors and residents of the area, renovation of the facades of 750 houses, as well as the establishment of a Visitor Information Centre and a pedestrian bridge,the pokesperson said..
