
The Attorney-General has issued an edict setting up a committee to facilitate the work of supervisory committees overviewing elections in the governorates.
The panel, comprising members from the Public Prosecution, will provide them with information on the criminal records of legislative and municipal nominees whenever need arises.
The Edict follows the issuance of another by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, the Chairman of the edict forming the High Elections Committee, forming the supervisory committees which will overview parliamentary elections in the kingdom's four governorates.
The panels will make sure the nominees meet the legal requirements to run for elections.
