
The National Popular Army has thwarted on Monday in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Algeria's extreme south, an attempt of smuggling of important quantity of foodstuffs and fuel, a National Defence Ministry’s release said Tuesday.
"Members of the National Popular Army from the 6th Military Region succeeded on 29 September 2014, during an ambush in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, to thwart an attempt of smuggling of important quantities of foodstuffs and fuel," the release added.
This operation allowed to seize 5,800 liters of fuel, various food products estimated at over ten tones, and three trucks, the same source concluded.
