The Armed Forces expressed Wednesday greetings to the great Egyptian people on the occasion of the Taba Liberation Day.Greetings were particularly expressed to the citizens of South Sinai whose national day celebrations coincide with this happy and momentous occasion in Egypt's history.Taba was the last part of Egypt to be liberated from Israeli occupation. Despite signing a peace accord with Israel in 1979 Israel continued to occupy Taba, but Egypt never gave up its claim to it and resorted to international arbitration, which announced on September 29, 1988 that Taba, the cherished piece of Egypt's soil, is an Egyptian land.
