The Arab League
Cairo - Arab Today

The Arab League held the first workshop on crimes committed against migrants during their passage at migration and refuge stops.

The Arab League is following up the growing phenomenon of migration with grave concern, director of legal affairs at the pan-Arab body Alaa el Tamimi said at the workshop on Monday.

He called for countering migration through available means under the resolutions issued by the Arab League councils of foreign, justice and interior ministers.

He warned against the dangers of human and migrant trafficking and the crimes committed against migrants during their travel.

The Arab League is working on carrying out a complete review and comprehensive assessment of the Arab strategy on fighting human trafficking and relevant Arab agreements, he added.
